For example, I once got into an argument with a co-worker and was furious enough to quit my job. In my anger, it was the best decision, bec***se I could not imagine looking at that person again. Now we work together well. I have a good job, but I would not if I had made the decision to quit in haste and anger.
Not only does taking time allow anger to fade, it also gives time to think through possibilities. It is important to look not just at the immediate decision, but also at its effects into the future. Considering different outcomes and possibilities can be a slow process. In the argument with my co-worker, I needed to look not just at my immediate satisfaction of getting aw*** from the person I argued with. I needed consider what would happen if I quit my job: I could not p*** my bills or save money for fun activities. I would need to find a different job. Any important decision has dozens of effects, so it is wise to evaluate what those might be.
Finally, you can get the opinion of others if you take time. You can discuss the situation with family or friends. You can consult the internet or other resources. If you get the advice of people who are not involved or who have more experience, you will have a greater chance of seeing all sides of the problem. You have all the information you need to ***yze the different possibilities. For example, if I had talked with my family about quitting my job, they might have suggested changing to a new department in the same company, or other reasonable solutions that I m*** not have thought of on my own.

When it comes to making a decision, you should go with your instincts and commit to an answer as soon as possible. If you take too long to consider, you can inconvenience others, miss opportunities, and make a poor decision.
It is important to remember that your decisions affect not just you but also the people around you. They must wait for your answer before they can go on with their own activities and plans. For example, if you are thinking about going on a vacation, you need to arrange for someone to take care of your pets or home. That person can’t make other plans until he or she finds out if you really are going. Therefore, if you take too much time to make a decision, other people are inconvenienced.
You might also miss opportunities if you are very slow about making a decision. While you are thinking, an event might be filled, a sale might end, or an offer might be withdrawn. 一、“the clearer the better”
很多考生对满分标准存在误读，集中体现为以下三类：
***类虚构型。部分考生从未认真阅读过官方指南上的评分标准和范文，因此虚构了用词越大分数就越高的要求。

这位考生解释说，他认为表达“著名的大学”用“famous”太俗、太低端，恰巧在背单词时看到了“notorious”有十分著名的意思，就自认为使用后能瞬间变身“高大上”。
殊不知“notorious”虽有十分著名之意，但是贬义词，意为声名狼藉、臭名昭著。考生有这样的“理想”，相信ETS的考官看到后定会大跌眼镜。
考生务必注意，活学活用虽是好事，但表达的***要义是准确、清楚。满分标准明确要求使用“合适的措辞(appropriate word choice)”，而非所谓的“大词”。
第二类误入型。很多考生学习积极性很高，在看美剧、听英文歌曲时学到的词汇、 短语 立即就用在了托福写作中。

虽然满分语言中明确要求使用“习语(idiomaticity)”，但上述表达中“give a damn about”过于口语化，而写作要求使用书面语，因此这个短语虽然“地道”但放在 文章 中显得格格不入。更何况“damn”本身就上不了台面，属于“four letter words”一类，受过良好 教育 (the well-educated)的英语母语使用者是不会在写作中使用类似表达的。
第三类妄想型。很多考生在阅读了满分标准后，提出疑问：“ 句子 越复杂分数就越高吗?”不可否认，满分标准明确指出需要“使用不同的句法”，但考生也要量力而行。例如：

这位考生的语法显然不过关，除了从句使用不当之外，还出现了人称前后不一致、可数名词缺少冠词、动词搭配不当等诸多问题。事实上，我们只要用“and”连接两个分句就可以清楚的表达核心思想：

以上三类考生犯了舍本逐末、本末倒置的错误。虽然满分标准中指出“允许考生出现次要的词汇或语法错误”，但这绝不意味着语法不重要。影响表达的语法错误绝不属于“次要”的范畴。
从低分要求到满分要求纵向分析，不难发现语言升级需要建立在一定的基础上。这就好比是登山，不经过山腰是无论如何也不可能登顶的。因此考生要根据自身语言实力使用适当的词汇和语法结构。
即使有一定基础的考生，首先也要突破3分标准的限制： 造句 和选词的不熟练使得文章缺乏清晰度，并且偶尔使意思含混不清(m*** demonstrate inconsistent facility in sentence formation and word choice that m*** result in lack of clarity and occasionally obscure meaning)，在表达清楚的基础上，进而使语言丰富、多变、有内涵，向满分标准冲刺。
托福写作常见的那些失分点
托福写作中有一些易犯错误，将它列举出来，考生可以对照自己的写作看一看，有则改之无则加勉，不要为不必要的失误丢分。
托福写作段落过长，不分段。一大段一大段的内容看起来冗长没有逻辑性，让人失去读下去的兴趣。适当分段，让文章整体看上去简洁明了。
文章结构不平行，使用连词将一系列的单词联接起来的时候，应当使用词性相同或同一类型的短语。
不知所云，不知道想要表达些什么：Many companies began using computers mouth.
句子别扭，措辞过长或不清。换言之，句子显得滑稽可笑。

To begin with, the advent of various high-tech products has enriched the w***s and approaches to receive education. Obviously, with the introduction of advanced means of education, educational resources take on multiple forms such as distant education and online study, which make knowledge more accessible to us. However, in the past, the only w*** to get educated was to attend classess in traditional schools, which definitely increases the difficulty of gaining education. For example, in the process of making preparations for TOEFL test, I want to take class in Beijing New Oriental School. But I am an undergraduate student of a university far aw*** from Beijing. Meanwhile, due to the academic pressure from my college study, it is impossible for me to take a month off and to have an intensive course in Beijing. Secondly, since more and more importance is being attached to education, it is much easier and essential to get educated than in the past. As a result, the public awareness of receiving education is much stronger than before, leading to a common phenomenon that an increasing number of parents send their kids to study abroad. The above data has shown that the number of educated people has gone through a dramatic rise, which indirectly indicates that education now is more available to the public.
Admittedly, some areas in the world m*** be cited as an exception. For instance, people in the war-stricken areas including Iraq and Syria do not have easier access to education and some of them are even on the verge of starvation. In these areas, the current educational situation is not better than that in the past. However, such cases only occupy such a tiny percentage of the global population that they can be neglected.

Additionally, governments have put so much financial and human resources to provide education at different levels so that people enjoy a better chance to be educated. For instance, Chinese government spared no effort in this regard since education from kindergarten to twelfth grade is fully subsidized and such educational experience is accessible to children from both rural and urban areas. Besides, institutions of higher learning and various research centers receive state fund, and the figure is so phenomenal that it is not exaggerated to claim that it is in billions of U.S. dollars. Such foundations can be for multiple purpose, like purchasing advanced science equipment, attracting bring young researchers and scientists, funding cutting-edge research to improve people’s livelihood, directly and indirectly. All of these institutions and universities are in a better position to provide education resources to people.
In conclusion, it is much easier for people to get education of all level ranging from kindergarten to tertiary education since education comes in handy with advanced technological tools like these massive on-line courses and governments’ effort to improve people’s educational experience.
